Abstract

The misional functions of a institutions of higher education (IHE) involve pivotal aspects in teaching, social projection and research, which contribute to the development of the strategic institutional plan. This, with the purpose of strengthening the process of research in the (IHE), incorporating the use of the Information Technologies (IT)  and  being part of the  general Institution  planification. The following article presents an integral model of management as well as the encouragement of research in institutions of  higher education . It also highlights the integral and two-dimensional characteristics. Integral because of it looks for suppport each process the (IHE) has in the development of the misional functions; and two-dimentional, firstly there are three important axes: Research training, formative research and networking. The second reason is this method incorporates (ABP in spanish)-based learning project as a strategy and teaching/learning method, created to guide students through the planning, implementation and evaluation of projects or solving problem applicable daily. The whole process is supported by a management and assesment software model applied in the institutions of higher education.
