Abstract

The field of strategic management has studied the subject of recurring business models. Often, we find reflections on the case of international companies such as Uber, Airbnb, Zara, South West, The Cirque du Soleil, Ikea. A reading of these works has come to conclude that a business model describes the basis on which a company creates, provides and captures value. However, reflection on the business models in SMEs is still emerging, even in Colombia. Looking for help in thinking about the topic, this article aims to describe the business model of the company Kids Club, a manufacturing company of footwear for children, as cataloged by one of the best Colombian companies within the sector. Through the study, comes to the fore as the company has identified its market segments, structure value chain and mechanisms generating sales in order to identify critical success factors and propose new ways to keep it as a leader sector in the current business environment.
