Theaim of this paperisto describe the implementation of a teaching sequence that uses open software (simulation) to facilitate the learning of energy and its transformations as well as scientific competencies and skills related to these concepts by students of a secondaryschool.Ananalysis of the results it can be inferred that the simulation was a valuable assistant used for teaching and learning these concepts and science skills. The simulation acted as a mediator between the physical model and the student to construct concepts and procedures accepted by Science, under the guidance and orientation of the teacher.Downloads
